VANNI: The troops of 56 and 61 Divisions, DDG, HORIZON, FSD, and SARVATRA de mining teams have recovered following military items in the general areas of MAHILANKULAM, PARASANKULAM, PERIYATHAMPANNE, MARUTHAMADU and MANNAKULAM areas yesterday (05).

JAFFNA: De-mining operations continue in the JAFFNA peninsula as Army Troops and de-mining Organizations continue to recover the mines, explosives as well as military items on a regular basis. Yesterday (04),  Troops conducting clearing operations recovered a 60mm mortar bomb  from ARIYALAI, JAFFNA on information from a civilian while Troops recovered one hand grenade  also on information from a civilian.

NORTH: TROOPS on their search and clear operations in the general areas of MAILMUTHTHETTUKULAM, MATHIYAMADU, MADHU, KOLLANKULAM, KILINOCHCHI, IRANAMADU, UDAYARKATTUKULAM, WELLAMULLIWAIKKAL and PUTHUKKUDDIYIRIPPU recovered seventy rounds of 6.62 x 17 mm ammunition, seven hand grenades, two cyanide capsules, four electric detonators, one improvise fuse with detonator, 2.5 m long detonator code,...

JAFFNA:  On a tip off received to the troops of 52 Division, following office equipment belong to the former LTTE political office were recovered in the  general area of MIRUSUVIL yesterday (02). 

Naval troops attached to SLNS Vijaya in the North-western Naval Command arrested four (04) persons possessing illegal fishing nets in Kalpitiya on 31st August 2010.

The MMIP  De-mining Organizations  conducting clearing operations yesterday(01) recovered  17 xAP( P4MK1) mines from MURUTHANKULAM, while the DDG  de-mining Organization  recovered 06 x AP(P4MK1) mines  from MAHILANKULAM and the Horizon De- mining Organization  recovered  42x AP(Rangan 99) mines and 01 x AT mine also from the same area . JAFFNA: 01 P4 mark unserviceable AP mine has been recovered by the troops of 52 Division in the general area of KOVILAKKANDI yesterday (31).

WANNI: The SL Army troops, HORIZON and the DDG de mining teams have recovered 53 AP mines and 08 AP mine fuses in the general areas of NAVATKULAM, MAHILANKULAM, PARASANKULAM and MARUTHAMADU yesterday (31).

MANNAR: 06 AP mines have been recovered by the troops in the KOLLANKULAM area.....

During clearing operations in JAFFNA  Sector on Saturday (28),  Army Troops and De- mining Organizations recovered 86 x AP mines and other explosives items  from the JAFFANA and VAVUNIYA  sector . Army Troops recovered 02 x unserviceable (US) Hand Grenades  , one from  ARIYALAI and one from MURAVANPULAU  while Troops conducting clearing operations in VAVUNIYA recovered   01 x 40mm G/L bomb  from OMANTHAI, 04 x 60mm mortar bombs from MATHIYAMADHU  while the DDG Organization recovered... 

De-mining operations continued yesterday (27) in the VAVUNIYA and MANNAR. In the VAVUNIYA, Army Troops conducting clearing operations yesterday (27) recovered 02 x AP mines from NAVAKULAM while the HORIZON and DDG de mining teams have recovered 81 x AP mines in MAHILANKULAM area yesterday (27).

Meanwhile the  MAG Organization unearthed  01 x AP mine, 04 x RPG 7 bombs and 06 x Hand grenades  from PERIYAPANDIVIRICHCHAN while the HORIZON Organization recovered...

Naval troops of Rapid Action Boat Squadron, Headquarters Kalpitiya in North Western Naval Command arrested twenty six (26) persons who engaged in illegal fishing off Vellal, Kibulbokka and Uchamunai areas in Wilpattu on 24th August 2010.
