BATTICALOA: TWO TAMIL YOUTHS forcibly abducted and kept under training by the Tiger terrorists surrendered to the Army camp in VANDARAMOOLAI, today (03) at 7.00 a.m.
One of them was returning home after 'A' level classes when Tiger terrorists kidnapped him on 25 October. The other was a mason by profession who was also returning home after work when he was kidnapped by the Tigers on the same day.
They have stated that they were trained for armed combat much against their wishes. They also complained of the misery due to the harassment, beatings with sticks, lack of food and water, and their inability to be with their parents. These youths have stated that over 75 youth kidnapped by the LTTE terrorists are undergoing inhuman training in the camps set up for this purpose by the Tigers.
They consider very fortunate to have been able to escape from the iron grip of their captors. During interrogations of the Tiger cadres who surrendered recently it is apparent that these youths seek a better future for themselves than fight what they know as a losing battle.
The Security Forces have made arrangements for all those who need security and also provide food, clothing and shelter.
