Relentless clearing operations by Army Troops and de-mining Organizations

JAFFNA:  Army Troops conducting clearing operations in the  52 Division area yesterday (23) recovered  20 x unserviceable (US) AP mines from MIRUSUVIL , 01 x M75 Hand Grenade from KODIKAMAN and 02 x SFG Hand Grenades (US), and 01 x (US) 60mm mortar bomb from TANANKILAPPU .

The De- mining organization "Horizon"   conducting clearing operations recovered 170 x AP mines( P4MK1)  from MAHILANKULAM and the DDG Organization also recovered  08 x AP mines from the same area while Troops recovered 03 x AP mines and 01 x 81mm mortar bomb from OMANTHAI. 

WANNI: The DDG Organization  engaged in de-mining operations in the PARASANKULAM area yesterday (23)  recovered 06 x AP mines (P4MK1) while the FSD Organization recovered 115x AP mines and 26 x 60mm mortar(HE) bombs from PERIYATHAMPANEI  in the Army 61 Division area .

The MAG Organization recovered  40 x AP mines  from SINNPANDIVIRCHCHAN  while Troops recovered 11 x AP mines and 01 x 81 mm mortar (HE) bombs  from MADHU area .

Meanwhile the FSD Organization recovered 1 x AP mines from IRRANAILUPPAIKULAM while the Horizon Organization recovered 05 x AP mines from PALAMPIDDI.

MANNAR:  Army Troops conducting clearing operations recovered 04 x AP mines from KARUNKANDAL  and 12 x AP mines from KOLLANKULAM  while the MAG Organization recovered 02 x AP mines from NARIKKULAM yesterday.

Meanwhile, Troops recovered  unserviceable (US) military items consisting of 13 x Argus grenades, 01 x 60mm mortar bombs, 04 x RPG HE bombs, 26 X AP mines, 01 x 40mm G/L bomb,  01 x electric mine and 76 x LTTE Hand Grenades  from PARANTHAN in the 66 Division area yesterday (23).

The SARVATRA Organization recovered  04 x parts of RPG bomb, 01 x 60mm mortar bomb and 01 x 81 mm mortar bomb trap from Task Force 111 area on yesterday (23).
