Tripura Police Chief has revealed that there is credible evidence of military relations between the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) in India and the LTTE.
United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) is a terrorist organization which fights for a separate, sovereign state in North East India.
According to Tripura Police Chief the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) maintains relations with separatist organizations in the Asian region to enhance their mutual military strength. In fact recently three LTTErs have conducted one month training camp for Assamese terrorists.
The Tripura Police confirm that the LTTE and the ULFA operate together in collecting weapons and utilising naval routes to transport weapons. Their area of naval operation extends as far as Cambodia, it is reported.
This revelation by a state Police Chief in India is an eye-opener to all governments in the region, fighting separatist terrorism. So it is high time that the governments in the region implement a joint action programme to eliminate the evil of terrorism.
